Dr Latif really listened. He let my mum attend and he listened to my mum. I am unable to attend on my own.
Short notice appointment as arranged by CMHT to discuss my current mental state. Dragged up my 'chronic' low self esteem (not that I needed reminding!!) as soon as I walked through the door, kept going on and on and on, stuck the knife in, and kept twisting til I was a complete sobbing mess.
Basically said I'd got therapy and medication what else do I want?!!! I felt he didn't listen to a word I had said, didn't give me any opportunity to read out what I wanted to talk to him about, but doubt that would of made any difference to the outcome of the appointment.
Didn't even get the chance to talk about what currently has made me feel suicidal because couldn't get a word in edge ways, which was the whole point of the appointment!!
Felt completely invalidated and left in a hysterical sobbing state. Then another professional had to spend 1/2 hour of their time calming me down enough to be able to safely drive home!!
Will NOT be accepting another appointment with this Dr.

Thank you.
This appt was excellent. He listened and had looked at my mental health history. We come with all backgrounds of health, age and ability to recognise our condition and respond accordingly. I take my mental health seriously. I expect as a minimum to be taken seriously and be understood for who I am.
The doctor today was very understanding he took everything in what I said to him. I would recommend this doctor because he listens to what you have to say, not like other doctors.
